Default holomove.com

Ok, since i'm not sure whether Holomove and aladygma are related or not, I thought it best to start a new 'Holomove' thread. The aladygma stuff hasn't been ruled out yet so please feel free to post more stuff related to it there.

Anyway, the Future on Fox Blog seem to think that we should be looking at http://holomove.com - a San Diego based company who want to change the world by bringing together software, hardware and imagination - this sounds VERY Fringe-related if you ask me. Fringe seems to be a show which will premise the notion of merging technology with the concious, or imagination - we even see that in the trailer when Olivia tries to communicate to her comatose boyfriend via some kind of sleep-chamber - which i presume allows her subconscious to connect with his subconscious.

The holomove website is also littered with these floating 'orbs' - which I assume are called 'holomoves'? Anyway, these orbs are VERY similar to the yellow orbs which are found in each of the promo posters for fringe. Credit to Cloak for first making a connection there.

So what does it mean? Is Holomove the Dharma Initiative of Fringe? Are their little orbs able to control peoples subconcious? should we be on constant lookout for these little floaty things?

They also seem to have alot of job openings - has anybody tried their "HR Puzzle" yet? Did it yield any clues/results?

I'm going to give it a try shortly.

ETA: I should also add that apparently THIS GUY was the first to highlight the holomove puzzle -i'm thinking that this blogger is part of the 'game', so to speak..

CodeWtrN8 is his username - anyone see a pattern in that? Hmm..

ETA2:

I'm going to chronicle this dudes blogposts since all this started a few months ago:
  • He manages to crack the holomove HR Puzzle and sends it off to them
  • 2 days later he gets an interview with them. They fly him out to California.
  • He points to this article in the Times and admits to being 'scared' about the future of our planet. He says that the word is a very different place from when he was born. Interestingly he says that "geoengineering particularly creeps me out", and "I’ve seen enough sci-fi movies to know that when we try to fix one thing, we could inadvertently create something worse. But something needs to be done". He references a CNN article which reports on a piece of the Antartic collapsing into the sea.
  • He reveals his opinions on Holomove. Interestingly he mentions this: "Then there was some time just to solve puzzles. Not coding puzzles, but just physical puzzles. Like build a pyramid out of these weird shapes. And logic puzzles". Is this a link to the promo poster which has a pyramid shape in the leaf?
  • He posts up a bunch of his favourite April Fools day links - including this.
  • April 2nd 2008 he gets the job at holomove.
  • He posts a youtube video of his favourite song from a group called "Your Vegas" and wonders if anyone will 'fix their site'. Hmm..
  • He posts an intriuging article about Mr. T bring a boy out of a coma - this is interesting as it connects directly to the trailer that we saw for Fringe, where Olivia seemingly goes into a comatose state in order to speak to her comatose boyfriend.......
  • He talks about the strange way in which got the job at Holomove, and notes that the part of the site with the puzzle is gone - presumably because he 'had the right stuff'. However he managed to copy the puzzle:
Quote:
Even people who break new ground have precursors and inspirations. Here is a “shopping list” from one of mine. Who was he and what was he building?

The final equipment as now envisaged will comprise
(i) One master clock involving about four valves.
(ii) Four electronic commutators involving 124 valves.
(iii) Ten transfer gating sources involving about 300 valves.
(iv) Distributional system for Items 1, 2 and 3, involving about 25 valves.
(v) Two hundred dynamic storage units involving about 1600 valves.
(vi) Fifty temporary storage units involving about 400 valves.
(vii) Two input organs involving about 64 valves.
(viii) Two output organs involving about 190 valves.
(ix) Two logical control units or programmers involving about 230 valves.
(x) Four selector trees involving about 3,000 valves.
(xi) Three adders involving about 30 valves.
(xii) Interconnection system of all units via Item 10 involving possibly 250 valves.
(xiii) Hollerith tabulator for input and printing.
(xiv) Hollerith card puncher for output organ.

In addition, he set three goals for his new creation.

(1) The speed of the machine is no longer limited by the speed of the human operator
(2) The human element of fallibility is eliminated, although it may to an extent be replaced by mechanical fallibility.
(3) Very much more complicated processes can be carried out than could be easily dealt with by human labour.

Reply to jobsRTF@mail.com.
  • He reveals the answer:
Alan Turing and the Analytical Computing Engine (ACE)
however he says he got this reply:
Same question - Who was he and what was he building?
    which had this attached:
  • He reiterates how visionary the company is how they don't just want to push technology forward by an inch..but by leaps and bounds.
  • First day at Holomove - nothing to report, except his swell notebook.
  • Mentions the passing of Holomove founder - Dr. Gough, and share this video with us:
  • He posts a link to the following software project
  • April 25 - he posts two short video-blogs from inside Holomove HQ:

  • April 28 - short blog, he only posts this link
  • Posts a Videoblog with his boss (Eliza something) before the head off to InterOp:
  • He refers back to the punch card, and realises that it's encoded with a binary 'pattern' - the top few rows are all 0's and 1's

I submitted my answers and they sent me a password, but there's no where to enter it yet. I guess they will put up a 'login' box over the next few days?

Cloak, I was meaning to ask, have you done their HR puzzle yet, and did anything worthwhile come out of it?

Alright I am very interested by this stuff. If this is from Fox, then it must be more relevant then Aladygma, and at this point not quite as boring, so I am going to see what I can get here. But I won't quite rule out aladygma, cuz from what I know it fits the bill pretty well itself. I looked through the hollomove website and did their little survey, I am just waiting like some of you for the place to put my code in. I didn't find much interestign there so I moved on to this Nate guys blog.

After Looking through the blog, I found a couple things that I think I should post. For one, these are from the crossword:

hidden-images(photos)
something-community
important-knowledge
locate-random

I know the first word in each phraseI.E hidden, and something is from the crossword, they are in their in places they don't fit, like they are put there on purpose, the other string fo words I.E images and community are the actual answers that are suppose to be there. you put them together and you get this messgae. People have been commenting on his blogs with clues, and answers to these puzzles. take a look, i am going to try and post them all here, and cite where I got them from, but for the most part it will be from this one blog, and whatever else I can find. I will continue to edit this post with what I find.

OK this is a comment left by "Alex Butler" so says his blogger accoutn, and he ahs a lot fo good stuff to say, it seems him and his friend are on the search as we are.
Hi Nate:

It turns out that the fake answers mean,

important: locate something hidden

and they are filled in over the real answers,

images community, random knowledge

this led a friend of mine to suspect that there might be an online image community where something important was hidden. and lo and behold, there is a flickr account by the name of randomknowledge. here's the link.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/randomknowledge

there is... wait for it... another a puzzle! (Which my friend has already solved.)

I don't want to ruin the puzzle for you, I know you're a fan, but as the crossword says, this is important.

The solved puzzle says: Holomove=Hollowmoves.

I think it's time to start sleeping with one eye open, ear to the ground and all that.

Let us know what you make of this equation. And take care!

Alex

thanks Alex, if you ever read here.

Any ways there is more, someone commented on the blog by Nate entitled "I'm stressing out here". They posted this website and tell him to check it out.

Hey nate...

have checked out the website of your new boss' venture capital firm?

http://www.freyjacapital.com/

He later posts a blog about it, found here: http://codewtrn8.blogspot.com/2008/0...a-capital.html

OK I am not going to post anymore, I have much to look into before I look into anymore leads, if you guys have seen this, sorry, but I thought it woudl be good to bring up in one place, I am think I should have started a new thread, so if a mod could do that and title it Nate or somethign to that affect, that may help keep things clear.

Hey getty, I could be wrong, but I think that's more to do with the Dollhouse ARG..but FOX might be doing one big ARG for both shows, so it's worth keeping an eye on from a "Fringe" point of view!

That's excellent BLBass - i've sent a message to "freyjacapital" - let's see if they respond!

I've also come across this video:

That's the 'deceased' owner of holomove right? What's his name again..is it Gough something?

So it shows them making a break-through in holography - actually interacting with physical environment via a hologram of his hand! But what happened at the end of the video!?

Ok, i've just come across Nate Bozeman's own website - but it's password protected. I tried entering the username and password that holomove sent me but it doesn't work.

But at least we have another possible site to keep an eye on: http://www.nathanbozeman.com/

UPDATE:

Got it! The login for http://nathanbozeman.com is:

Login : Coeus
Mot de passe : LochLomond

Here's his latest post on the site:

Quote:
What a week. I’m just….overwhelmed. There’s so much going on (of course, this from the perspective of somebody who probably knows less than everybody else in the company)
I’’m torn about Eliza. The stress she’’s under, the loss of her father before they were able to smooth the waters - …getting forced into ownership at a relatively young age… it’’s got to be a lot on the plate. Still, I’’d like to think, she’’s got a good heart. I can’’t believe… ……that everything was an act. Nobody could pull that off. Who would want to pull that off.
The router lookup, I hope I’’ll be able to get to today. I think my little blow up was a tad conspicuous, and I tried to keep the head down, basically. At least look like I’’m keeping the head down.
I’’m feeling lost. I spent the night looking at old photos. Eliza. Dr. Gough. That old interview, with him. The lecture I saw …when he spoke… a couple of years ago. The guy let nothing get in his way. He was always defying the skeptics, the conventional wisdom. Conventional wisdom was mutually exclusive, in this guy’s book.
He stuck to his guns. He believed in integrity. You can see that in that old interview with the UCSD grad student.
I got into coding because of people like Gough. I feel cheated, to have lost this role model so early on.
This whole thing sucks.
So Eliza is Gough's daughter? Hmm..
There's a chance that this is a fan-made hoax, however..
